Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Personal Chef?
A Personal Chef may cook for several customers, preparing and freezing multiple meals. These meals are chosen by and customized for the individual customer. These meals are packaged and stored so that the client may enjoy them at their leisure in the future. We typically prepare several days worth of meals.
Who heats and serves the food?
The meals have been stored for you in your freezer. The customer heats and serves the food. We leave behind instructions for each meal.
Where do you cook?
Meals are prepared in your own kitchen. We bring the fresh ingredients for your meals and our own utensils, and prepare your meals in your home. We leave your kitchen clean.
How long will you be here?
We'll be cooking several different entrees and side dishes from scratch, so it will take several hours. We are willing to work with your schedule or situation, and will find a way that our cooking date fits your schedule.
What side dishes do you prepare?
We recommend side dishes that complement the meal you have chosen. For example if you have requested a broiled fillet of fish entrée we would recommend a sautéed green beans with almonds on the side.
What if I want you to prepare additional side dishes as well?
We'd be happy to provide that service for you. Please note that additional dishes entail an additional fee.
How much does it cost?
The cost per meal is about the same as what you would pay for a meal at a good local restaurant.
How do I pay for your service?
We shop for groceries before your cooking date. We must be paid in advance for this. Typically we require a grocery deposit, and a check picked up at your home on the day of service.
